Umbilical Cord Clamping

Swedish researchers discovered that clamping a newborn’s umbilical cord after three minutes, rather than 10 seconds, meant the infants had higher iron concentrations in their blood four months later.

Supporting the Mother's Choice

www.bestforbabes.org
Those are the words our family doctor uttered when I burst into tears in her office when my first born child was four weeks old and still hadn’t latched on once. I’d been pumping every two to three hours around the clock with a manual Avent Isis pump ever since he was born, feeding him the pumped mi...

Breastfeeding and Drugs

“More than one million mothers yearly in the United States do not breastfeed because they are given insufficient or incorrect information on medication use by their pharmacists and health care providers.” The review of medications and breastfeeding from the January 2012 issue of the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association (mentioned in the article) is here:http://japha.metapress.com/app/home/contribution.asp?referrer=parent&backto=issue%2C11%2C18%3Bjournal%2C2%2C58%3Bhomemainpublications%2C2%2C2;

I could not reconcile that God would give a boy an "unnecessary" foreskin. It's not a "natural" procedure. I couldn't bring myself...

Stunning Belly Painting

This deserves a repost - the right way! Last week I posted this photograph of a stunning belly painting that a friend had shared with me on Facebook. The owner of the photograph discovered it on my site informed me it had been altered, with the watermark removed and she sent me the original, which I am more than happy to share with you! How else would you know where to find this kind of artwork?? It's absolutely gorgeous!

It's really unfortunate when a client decides to alter a photograph, especially when it's the owner's watermark. It's the signature to their hard work and it deserves credit. I'm so glad she sent me the originals!
